Colorado has adopted special laws and procedures for the purposes of prosecuting “organized crime.” That term can include alleged gang members or a group of individuals who commit multiple acts collectively (i.e., drug distribution, car theft, assaults, etc.).  These cases are notorious for involving large amounts of information and can involve a risk of prison as well as a number of collateral effects. Like homicides or sexual assault cases, these cases generally require specialized knowledge and training that not every criminal defense lawyer has.
